EXPRESSION AND PERFORMANCE: Enhancing Audience Experience

Presentation in an artistic sport is in essence, “non verbal” communication.  Sports artists attempt to send wordless messages to their audience (including judges) by means of facial expressions, gaze, gestures and postures.

Human beings are extremely comfortable at receiving unspoken messages and make judgments based on these observations.

Therefore, it is very important for performers to direct the messages that are being sent to audiences rather than let those messages appear unintentional or random.

The activities I have included in this section will do wonders in nurturing the gymnast’s journey towards being fantastic performers.
